Linus noted that the included UUE part in you email looked corrupt.
It is that indeed. The transformation COULD perhaps be reversed
by saving the message into a file, editing it adding the missing
MIME headers:

MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

and then processing it with MIME-aware MUA program - like PINE.

I don't know what MUA you use, Keith, but it definitely produces
incorrectly formed MIME messages. Using such half-assed software
is way worse to the alternate of using no MIME aware software.
(And of course if you had used proper software, Linus would not
have had any problems at pulling in your encoded diff.)
