I think the issue was something like SMP=1 touches almost every source
file. So putting it in .config would cause massive recompliation. Perhaps
it would be better to just have the dialog scripts view and edit the
makefile, then it would be the same as the user doing it..
On this note, has there been official word that RedHat will make SMP an
install option?
