dumb ICMP question

I am receiving those messages ->

xxx.xxx.xxx.1 sent an invalid ICMP error to broadcast.

so obviously something is wrong either that router or
my machine with 2.1.126pre2ac2.

May I have some pointers for reading regarding this !?
