Lockups with 2.0.35

I have been having lockups with SMP on 2.0.35 with an ASUS
P2B-DS/P2-300(2), NCR SCSI.

I went to 2.1.125, but was experiencing weirdness with Apache 1.3.3 on
that kernel. It seemed to overload and not accept incoming
connections.
Any ideas?
