Since only a few machines are unstable, and nobody else seems to be
having
problems and my errors are beginning to spread out all over the kernel

Can this be caused by hardware? Would bad RAM give symptoms like this?
(Is there a good program to test your RAM for Linux?)

This time: A complete system crash, 2.0.36 final.

On the console, just one message -

wait queue is bad, EIP=0011443d.

from System.map:

00114110 T sys_syslog 0011431c T printk 0011444c T register_console 00114520 T sys_ni_syscall

I'll go back to 2.0.35 and see if that makes these systems stable again.
