I have a Toshiba laptop with the same chipset.

The XF86_SVGA drivers in XFree86 3.3.2 should work fine. It may not like some
of the higher color depths though. To get around this, in the "Device" (where
your chipset is defined) section of your XF86Config file, you will need to
override the DAC speed.

I use:

DacSpeed 40.000
