We could let the i960 do ISL for us.

I've got 3 Novell servers using these cards feeding into a Cisco
Catalyst 5500 using ISL, and during the time when we didn't have an
RSM in the 5500, it was a big lifesaver since we didn't have to do a
one-armed router configuration with our already underpowered 7010.
