DHCPCD and Static IP's

Hello People,

I just recently had my dhcp server change my ip from a dynamic to
a static. I did not need to change any configurations on my end, and I
was online when the switch occurred. dhcpcd aquired a new lease on my new
ip and everything worked perfectly until I rebooted. The network went
dead on me. So I checked to see if it was requesting the former ip, but
it wasn't. The error message was "no DHCPOFFER". I had to resort to
hardcoding the IP into my box which is what's working right now. Anyone
happen to know if this is a bug in dhcp or if its a misconfiguration on
the server or client end? Anyone else ever experience this? Thanks for
your time.
