mremap()

Out of curiosity, how much of a gain is this? I was thinking of implementing
it in FreeBSD last summer, but after talking to Dr. McKusick, he said
that it had been tried, and was not worth it at all. What are the big gains
and losses to it? Does the obvious, large, page-aligned data only, idea
hold?
