I'm looking at pre5. It looks fixed to me. The menuconfig screen
says Pentium/K6/TSC, and the help text says: "Pentium" for the Intel
Pentium/Pentium MMX, AMD K5, K6, and K6-3D.

You have a point here; the two screens are not consistent:
arch/i386/Config.in has the line 586/K5/5x86/6x86
Documentation/Configure.help mentions K5 in the machines that have a TSC.
