2.0.36 locks solid with quota

Is it a known weakness of 2.0.36 to hang when "repquota /" is issued? I
have a production server, stock RedHat-5.2 installation with a custom
rebuilt 2.0.36 kernel which wedges when I try using quota. I'd call this a
showstopper.
