I feel it would be nice to do this, but I don't know how it would effect the
kernel.. Add in support to access a scsi disk by bus/id/lun/partition.
Richard Gooch has a patch that does this, devfs:

it provides a completely virtual /dev (virtual the way /proc is).
very cool.
it'd be really nice if this could be included into linux. would make
adding other patches less troublesome.
