32-bits allows for nearly 4,300 million users, which is about the
population of China if I remember correctly. If so, then 64-bits will
be a bit of a sledgehammer for this particular nut...
Note that the current limit on uid/gid is 15-bit so 32-bit will be a
considerable expansion thereof...
