Well, after massive metadata corruption on my /usr partition, I've
installed gcc 2.7.2.3. Time will tell if egcs from RH60 was the cause of
the corruption...

PS - I'd recommend building and installing gcc 2.7.2.3 from source. That
works fine and you can still use egcs if you want to.
