Undefined Reference :- update_vm_cache

1. Undefined Reference :- update_vm_cache

2. When compiling a 2.3.9 kernel I get :-
-o vmlinux
fs/filesystems.a(fat.o): In function `fat_file_write':
fat.o(.text+0x261e): undefined reference to `update_vm_cache'
make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1

7.5 I realise this is a development (odd numbered) kernel, but everything worked upto version 2.3.5

X. Workaround, I commented the 1 line out in /usr/src/linux/fs/fat/file.c, and it seems ok.
