I would be interested to see benchmarks of it. Can you run the benchmark
The Athlon 500 MHz (only, form now, sneeef
;-) is a really GREAT performer.
I had tree days delay in getting my Athlon. It is now up since Saturday
morning 7.30 am.
My 'normal' medical 3D visualization programs run twice as fast as with
my K6-III 400. But floating point intensive applications runs three (yes
3 :-) times faster as with the K6-III 400.
--->
I have to put 'append = "mem=256M"' in my '/etc/lilo.conf' file. Without
it I only get 64 MB of system memory. Get some 'Unable to handle kernel
paging request at virtual address xxxxxxxx' faults.
Here are my results!!! :-)

If you need some more stuff, feel free to ask me about it. I have some

Some little problems still exists: (for example with unix bench)

Wow, what a night and very few sleep.
To Alan:
Later more...
My kernel and all the other stuff was compiled on my 'old' K6-III 400.
Should I recompile the binutils, compiler, glibc-2.1.1, glibc-2.1.2pre3
and the like with my Athlon? I got some compiler 'sigfaults' during my
first attempts.
