Still, it might be possible --- there are many, many, many issues to be
considered though.
There are also some non-technical reasons, even if it were possible
technically:
(1) The license agreements for the drivers may very well not allow for use
on an operating system other than NT.
(2) The hardware manufacturer will probably not provide *any* support for
such a use.
(3) We'll almost certainly be stuck with binary-only drivers.
(4) If we start doing this, we will have even less leverage for getting proper
Linux drivers written.
