P1244 HSM on linux?

Is there any plans for adding HSM Capabilities in the Linux kernel. I'd
love to help in such an endevour but am sad to say that I don't possess
nearly enough programming knowledge to even know where to start. Apparantly
the IEEE have a standard for HSM libraries etc but I have not yet looked at
it seriously. What I can volenteer is a website and a mailinglist should
people be interessted but as I say I don't even know if a kernel level
interface would be nessesary or if it could be done through libc.

ps. Sorry if there already is a project underway to implement HSM on Linux.
