Just ran into the same problem.

[gmack@localhost wav]$ play borg.wav
Sound: DMA (output) timed out - IRQ/DRQ config error?
Sound: DMA (output) timed out - IRQ/DRQ config error?
[gmack@localhost wav]$

It worked fine last time I tried it, no config changes so these setting
should be correct.

Card config:
Sound Blaster at 0x220 irq 7 drq 1,5
SB MPU-401 at 0x330 irq 7 drq 0
OPL-2/OPL-3 FM at 0x388 drq 0
