OK. The current kernel on the box (104) is not built for SMP.

No modules. I also have to pass some boot parameters via lilo as the jazz
card doesn't have a real scsi BIOS and I need to tell the driver it's
there!

I'll try to upgrade to 112 this weekend (or 113 by then) and post my
results early next week. I'll also sift through the 99-104 patch sets for
anything that looks like it might have broken the driver.
