Hi,

I just upgraded from 2.0.35 to 2.2.0pre7
I'm running libc5.4.38 on caldera openlinux 1.1
I upgraded everything in the documentation needed for 2.2.0 (i'm running
it and 2.1.131 on other systems without X)

When i restarted with 2.2.0 and went to go into X (which was v3.2.1)
i got this:

[root@athena /root]# startx

_XSERVTransSocketINETCreateListener: ...SocketCreateListener() failed
_XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: server already running

Fatal server error:
Cannot establish any listening sockets - Make sure an X server isn't
already running

When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send
the full server output, not just the last messages

_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
giving up.
xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.

I went to the xfree site and downloaded all the libc binaries for v3.3.3
and installed them..still doesn't work. I'm using the XF86_S3 server for a
Diamond Stealth 3D 2000 card. I've tried the regular vga and svga servers
also to no avail.

what am I missing?

while i'm here i should report that since upgrading to pre7 i've crashed
twice. once on a wait_on_bh and again with this message:
VFS: No free dquots, contact mvw@planets.elm.net
