I believe you remeber wrong, in 2.2.14 I fixed the MM bugs that was
killing init by mistake (at least for IA32, alpha, and DaveM should have
updated sparc*). That could happen with all previous kernels though.
If you can kill init in 2.2.14 please let me know.
