I'll forward the patch to the list when I get home..
I've done ~90% of the source tree so far, and will probably do the
remaining bits tonight.

One area of interest which I've missed which may take a bit more work
is NFS / SMBFS. There we can add conditionals to the Makefiles, to
not compile the xxxproc.c files. Unfortunatly, we'd still have to ifdef
the callers. smbfs also seems to throw some routines into its proc.c
file which it needs even if you didn't use proc..
I'm not sure the amount of work necessary here is entirely worth it,
as those who are compiling without /proc can probably live without
nfs/smbfs.
For now I'll stick to the easy cases :)
