Please exclude gus... the OSS/Free driver for it seems to have been broken
for around 2 years - prolly has something to do with most gus owners using
either OSS/Linux and/or ALSA ;)
(OSS/Free seems to be able to use the synth but dsp does that boring DMA
error thingie; the other two drivers mentioned have dsp working but the
synth part is not exactly implemented w/ alsa and so on...)
