i think you'll find the response to this question is that in general Linux
development doesn't respond to bugs in other people's code -- that just
adds complexity and obfuscation to the kernel.
however, if there is a legitimate kernel problem (and there may be; the
kernel should not be vulnerable to problems in Glibc, IMHO), then that
should be fixed. at least some public analysis of the lock-up is in
order.
