Hi,
I am using a Dell inspiron 7000 laptop with linux-2.4.0-test1 with
two PCMCIA cards, a Psion gold card V90 modem and a 3COM
3C589C ethernet card. I encountered the following problems:
- The machine freezes after a reboot if the ethernet iterface is
configured. I must turn off the power, then restart the system.
The boot sequence stops after the following message is printed
on the console:
Adding cardbus controller 0: Texas Instruments PCI1220
PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:04.0
PCI: The same IRQ used for device 01:00.0
- if, after a dial up connection via ppp, I kill the pppd daemon
(2.3.11) the machine (almost always) reboots.
- I am running IBM-DB2 on this machine. The perl interface to the DB
(DBD-DB2-0.73) stops working under 2.4.0-test1. Better, it works only
if the caller is the instance owner. I think because of shared
memory issues.
- APM does not work. With 2.2.15 folding the cover it is enough to
suspend the system. With 2.4.0-test1 nothing happens.
I enclose my kernel configuration.
