I have the good old TCP problem where in really peak times
too many incoming connections appear on a port and the kernel
starts dropping them because the backlog is exceeded.
In the Linux 1.2.8 kernel the backlog value is hardwired to 4. Does
it make sense to push this up to something a lot bigger, and then
change the listen calls in any affected applications?
