With that out of the way I am wondering if there is anyone working on
adding binary support for data files? Allow me to explain...
I am not sure that this is something that should be done in the kernel but
upon seeing the binfmt_java.c and such files I had to ask. ;)
One example would be where the user has a gzip file in the current dir,
instead of having to unzip it by hand he could simply type the name of the
file and gzip would appropriately take care of the task.
I think that this would have the potential of making things easier for
many users of linux as long as simple means of configuration of the
parameters and such that are passed to the tools that the data files are
associated with is available.
Thanks
