As another datapoint, 2.1.84 without your IO_APIC patches #1 and
#2 fails to boot on my Tyan Tomcat IV (dual p5) because the AIC7xxx
driver yields an "Aiee killing interrupt handler".
With your patches applied everything works beautifully even under
heavy load and disk activity.
