This would be the case if your dimms were sdram and your simms were edo,
although as long as both were EDO, this wouldn't be a bad hack at all.
And since 5v EDO dimms, while not a current item, did exist at one time, you
could probally get away with it.

Actually, as far as getting away with it, I am probally wrong, because the
key is slightly offset on 5v dimms, and they don't fit in the same slots.
