GRR!! SMP=1 sucks

<RANT>
This is about the ten thousandth time i've started compiling a kernel and
realised that SMP has been defined.. So i have to edit the makefile, rerun
make dep and start again.. Really, do most people who run linux have
more than 1 processor??? I think not!! Someone please be kind and comment
the line out, and put a comment above it saying if you want SMP, to
uncomment it for youself.. Or better still, make it a config option that
defaults to off..
</RANT>

After saying that, I don't think I'm being selfish by wanting something to
default to the way _I_ want it, as I personally don't know anyone who has
more than 1 cpu in their computer.. Not all of us are made of money.. :)

An added benefit would be people would stop complaining that their SMP
kernel crashes on their UP box, when probably the only reason they're
using an SMP kernel in the first place, is because it defaults to that.

Yours slightly annoyedly,

Dave.
