I just want to report that having downloaded Doug Ledford's
aic7xxx-5.0.12 patch [have not the stomach to try the unlucky 13] and
recompiled and re-bzlilo'ed, my CD-ROMs and my Workman are doing just
fine. Thanks for a job well done, Doug.
[Now if I can just learn how to burn a CD-ROM ..., cdroast,
here I come!]
To whoever had the same problem as I did with an UltraPlex: Doug says
that the UltraPlex sends SENSE data which in the older driver gets in
a memory scribble because the transfer into DMA disappears into limbo
or something like that. The aic7xxx-5.0.12 patch eliminates that.
