Must be an architecture specific problem:
$ uname -a
Linux sprocket.ro.com 2.1.113 #10 Sat Aug 1 22:44:16 CDT 1998 alpha unknown
$ ps l
FLAGS UID PID PPID PRI NI SIZE RSS WCHAN STA TTY TIME COMMAND
100 500 286 1 0 0 17344 1224 wait4 S 1 0:00 /bin/logi
0 500 294 286 0 0 6848 1200 wait4 S 1 0:00 -bash
Works fine for me on the Alpha with 2.1.113. I did have to setup my
System.map file correctly to get usable info (the standard ps looks in
/boot instead of /).
