: to re-set the card.

It worked. :)
[ If someone wants to add this to some kind of FAQ or something,
the magical sequence is grabmode, to grab current mode, enter
the result tu /etc/TextConfig (or something similar) and run
SVGATextMode -o 100x30 # My favourite mode ]
Why do You suspect BIOS bug, BTW? (I'm curious, forgive me my
incompetence).
