To answer question # 3 first --- I'll only speak for myself. --- If there is a
working patch for 2.0.x, no matter if it is the swapin-parent or new cache
patch, I will appreciate it a lot.
Right here we have several test machines on 2.1.x, and all other Linux machinese
are running 2.0.x [and _may_ change to 2.2 only when it is _reasonably_ stable]
so in my case 2.0.x still has a lifespan for many, many moons, at least.
Answering question # 1 and # 2, Andrea, whichever way the patch takes is fine
with me, as long as they improve 2.0.x
Anyway, you have my appreciation for your hardworks.
