I don't think that's strictly true. The company I work for has got
6 7006 (42T) workstations that are PowerPC chips but have an MCA bus.

However I think these machines are somewhat of an exception and
that rule USUALLY holds up.

What would be interesting would be Linux on the new 43P-260
workstations,
with a pair of Power3 chips!! That would be good:)
