long & bitter:
I have a system with a HP CD-RW drive (master on the second ide
controller) and a Samsung CD-ROM (slave on the second ide controller)
drive. I want to use the ide-cd driver for the Samsung, since the
ide-scsi driver has problems with reading cdda, and is slower. But I
want to use the ide-scsi driver on the CD-RW, so I can actually write
CDs. And I want them to both be active at the same time, so I can copy
from one device to the other. I've experimented, but it looks like the
ide-cd and ide-scsi drivers grab both cd devices no matter what I do.
I'm running kernel 2.1.131, btw.
PS: a cc to my reply-to address would be good, since I'm not on the
list.
Thanks in advance.
